Re: Lamictal

I've been on Lamotrigine for a few years now, 300mg a day. I've drank plenty of alcohol over the course of those years, and it is most definitely not an issue.

Re: Treatment/Medication Resistant Depression

This may be a weird thing to bring up, but have your doctors ever suggested participating in studies that focus on treating TRD? I say this because I have noticed the interest in TRD spike recently, much of which is based around studies searching for effective ways of treating TRD.

Do I have a reason to feel like other people do?

Listening to the podcasts and reading the discussion here has re-hashed a thought I pondered a lot back when I was in group settings(mental hospital and outpatient programs). I know there are millions of people who feel/have felt the way I do, but I'm not sure I have ever heard a backstory as trauma...

Music?

This is the first song I put together in garageband, if you can even call it a song, the background of the video also happens to be a photo I took.

Re: Cutting?

I started cutting when I was 13 and it quickly became a nightly event. I stopped when I was 16ish and more than 5 years later I'm beginning to accept the fact that I will have large, visible scars on my forearms for the rest of my life. I probably would have fallen back into it a couple years back, ...

Re: do you feel like a failure?

Kayleigh, you are far from alone. I constantly feel like a failure. I know I have the potential to do well in school and that I have a knack for writing, but I don't do well in school or write often. What I try to do is take inspiration from the stories of hard work and perseverance. Knowing that so...

Re: Looking for a friendly word

dayofabsence, I feel this way often. The best advice I can give is to try counselors/therapists until you find one you can feel comfortable with. Also, and this is something I need to work on myself, when it feels like you never want to go home or talk to anyone again there is nothing better than go...

Jesse Perez, I just wanna say

That was one of the most beautiful stories I have ever heard, ard. Just mind-blowingly honest, modest insightful conversations I have ever heard. Also, Jeff that emailed Paul, I stopped being surprised or comforted by the idea that I am not alone, but I was shocked in the best way possible that I am...

Re: So close, yet so far away. Lies, lies, lies.

Thanks! I got the idea from a time my parents wrote a letter to me, but e-mailed it to my therapist so I could go over it with him instead of simply going through the usual family argument. Also, I know my next appointment because it's a weekly appointment, but I can tell that I'm closer than ever t...

Re: Awkward

Now I'm struggling with trusting myself to take care of myself. I can follow directions when given them, but as an academic I have to be my own boss. And I simply don't have enough confidence to feel that what I think I should be doing is actually what I should be doing. So yeah, it'd be great if I...
