The DSM is an unfortunate cultural mainstay. Diagnosis is for insurance and drug companies only. I feel if we really attend to the experiences of our clients, and develop a language with them, the DSM becomes useless.

IMO, psychiatrists suck at diagnosing complex problems like yours. They deal with discrete symptoms, and pretend that mental disorders are separate entities. You need to have a full psychological assessment by a psychologist.

I tired it. I didn't see much of a difference. Then I freaked out when I read the studies showing excessive fish oils is responsible for tripling the risk of prostate cancer in men...so I stopped.

No matter how she has billed herself, she has done something terribly unethical. She needs to be reported to the board of ethics before lying to more clients.

I am so glad you are feeling some relief. BTW, I totally agree with your take on the "rejection" exercise. Will understanding your experiences of rejection help the situation for you? Unless it is used to communicate the depth of your pain to your wife, it seems strange to me. I don't know...
