Re: Episode 211: Maggie Mull

I feel like a bit of an a-hole here, but I was bugged by Maggie's episode. I felt like, "So, you have weird feet and a tad bit of depression. Why are you on here?". It also seemed like a lot of what she said was just shallow and due to her age/insecurity.

Re: Food & Alcohol and battles with "kind of addicted"...

Thanks, Manuel. Mine is not so much my mood, as much as wanting to experience a mood, ha. In other words - I tend to just feel disconnected and I find myself wanting to use alcohol as a way to reach my emotions. As for food, that is more out of habit and self-destruction. It started at a young age f...

Re: BryceLayton's Diary

Bryce, Thank you for sharing. I agree that the names of authors & scientists is an amazing idea and was surprisingly easy to follow. Your John Green comment made me chuckle, too. I sort of like him, have a strong annoyance w/his brother and have to agree about the self inflated young characters....

Learning to let feelings surface - two entries

For my "psychology of personal adjustment" class, we have to write weekly journal entries. I'd never written journals outside of the "livejournal" online community 14 yers ago, and it was scary. I also wish they didn't read as stunted as they do, because it reminds me that I am s...

Food & Alcohol and battles with "kind of addicted"...

I realize I am "kind of addicted" to things, which has always been apart of me and I ignored, but also wish I had a better name for whatever's up with me. I recently decided that I was an alcoholic, and was almost rejected by a clinic when I tried to reach out about it. They're going to ca...

Re: Episode 208: STIRLING

I liked listening to this, too. As a 32 yr old rather judgey at times lady, I was thinking I'd hate it. However, Stirling's self-awareness and legit empathy towards his own struggles & how they may have affected others, was just amazing to listen to.

My trauma.

I watched my best friend die in front of me. I could have saved her, but I was too young to know what was going on.

Don't let the world get in your way.

I came across this video a few years ago and often reflect on it, due to the fact that if I ever were to take a camera around w/me, it'd look similar. The song is perfect, too.

Re: Poem about the first time I dissociated..

You did an awesome job with being direct. As a fellow female who understands the displaced anger receiver, I enjoyed the "oh, the things I must have done to you" line. It really got in there and seemed to help you take back ownership. Awesome that you recognized it was this guy's issue and...

Re: Attention

That makes sense to me. I recently had to acknowledge my own attention seeking tendencies I also use humor and also realized I'd make jokes in conversations as a way to control & make myself more comfortable. Whatever it is, it's awesome to be able to recognize, so you/we/etc. can take in the in...
