Is there a way that I can get an email notification or other such thing when someone replies to my post or when There are updates particular threads. I'm not sure what the setting is for this particular board, but I have seen it done elsewhere.

I don't want to seem dense, but is there a "subscribe topic" "bookmark topic" near the bottom of the page you are interested in?
I am not an expert in this message board software - I am but the lowliest of moderators!
The board is has low enough traffic so that "View active topics" allows one to quickly get up to speed on the whole board.
