How are you and your parents doing now? I don't have experience with the specific type of illness that you describe, but I relate to the overwhelming feeling of trying to deal with your own physical and mental health issues while also being (or feeling) responsible for your parent's health issues and mental well being. I've been in that situation with my elderly mom for years, and the situation has become more critical over the past year as her health declines. If your parents are decent people I don't think they would feel you "owe" them for the care they gave you. That's just what loving and responsible parents do. And you're doing the best you can in a terribly difficult and sad situation. You can't take away your dad's depression or pain, or your mom's worry, you can only try to help him get access to services and be with him to the best of your ability on any given day. If you need to rest or be away from the situation some days that's okay, you deserve rest and care too.
