strip club addict

Post by Elmer68 »

I am 45 years old, straight, never married, no kids.
I love getting lap dances from strippers. I love it too much, as I have spent thousands of dollars on it and wiped out my savings on it. I have not dated a woman for over a decade. I like the feeling of being a sleazy, invisible dirty old man.
I do need to see a therapist and will so next month, when I have money. I just need to stay out of strip clubs

thank you manuel
sometimes I get the feeling that people think that all men who frequent strip clubs just sleazy creeps and nothing more, but there is more to the story.

Hi Elmer. I can relate to your situation. I hope that you can try to not judge yourself too harshly, even though you may feel (and may be correct) that other people are judging you. Clearly there is something that you need that in some way, you have found that you can get by going to strip clubs and getting lap dances. I have been there myself. I can completely relate to the idea of being invisible and anonymous - that's why I started going. It turned into something else for me. I won't fill up your thread with the details, but you can read about it on this thread and elsewhere on this board: http://www.mentalpod.com/forum/viewtopi ... =43&t=8083

You have recognized that it is a pattern of behavior that in the long run is not working for you - it sounds like is not really getting you what you want and need and it is wreaking havoc with you financially. You deserve a lot of credit for coming to this realization and seeking help. I hope you can follow through with therapy and realize that many other people have been in your situation. Sexuality is powerful and the sex industry, whether porn or strip clubs or other things, are not inherently good or bad (in my opinion) but are very dangerous and can lead to patterns of destructive behavior. I know that going to strip clubs does not mean that you are a sleazy creep or say anything else bad about who you are, and I hope that therapy becomes a tool for you to find out what you really want and need and how to get there.

Can I just say - from my point of view there is absolutely nothing wrong with going to a strip club and getting a lap dance. Even if you are in a relationship.

The only no-no in my book is if the other half objects.
"Of course you have an active inner life, you're bipolar"
