Psychosis/disassociation

Post by kayle »

Is it possible to differentiate depressive and PTSD psychosis/disassociation? Would the treatment differ anyways? I go back to my pdoc next Friday but I'm just kind of curious. SSRI's, SNRI's have never treated me well. I take a decent dose of Adderall daily for combo ADD and treatment resistant depression, Xanax PRN (I rarely take, doesn't help much for hypervigilance), and Prazosin at bedtime. I'm thinking about asking if a mood stabilizer might help.

The after effects of a trigger can't be numbed by an appropriate dose of Xanax. Anger, irritability, sadness and despair are my predominate moods. Not much in the middle. Anyone have any experience with this?

Okay well, went to the doc and here's my update:

Starting Viibryd for MDD, starting EMDR therapy next month. This brings my treatment for Combo ADD/PTSD/MDD to:

Adderall IR/XR - add
Viibryd 20mg - mdd
Prazosin - ptsd nightmares
Xanax - PRN
