Bookending: Scared of Thursday. (And beyond, but esp Thur)

To start a post, create a new topic. Post about anything from changing grade schools to moving into a retirement home. Hopefully not in the same year.

Bookending: Scared of Thursday. (And beyond, but esp Thur)

Post by oak »

I am facing a difficult situation, in particular Thursday August 4.

This mess will be ongoing, and may certainly get worse after Thursday, but that is the day I am scared of.

They say we are only as sick as our secrets, so I am going to be a little healthier by getting this out.

While I choose not to, right now, disclose the situation, I can assure you it is nothing sexy or exciting, just one of the difficult situations I face as a grownup.

I don't know how things will turn out Thursday, but I will have posting here to look forward to, and as a way to keep out of my head.

btw, "bookending" is something I learned in Debtors Anonymous: a person calls/emails/texts before and after a difficult action.

I'll bookend after the situation :(

There! I used my words :)

Hey oak!

I love that imagery by the way a big strong tree that has deep roots and a strong broad support network - LOVE IT!

So I hope that THursday went way better than expected - I hope that whatever the decision was it was grounded and centered and that it felt right afterward -

THinking of you on the day after

Keep us posted!

Thanks Imissymysun and Rivergirl!

I am pleased to report that bookending, scripting, and your and Brownblob and Manuel Moe's encouragement helped me.

On Thursday I used my words, tried to find common ground, focused on how I can help further others' interests, and finally how they can (in complimentary fashion with their interests) further my interests.

In many ways Thursday was a bookend of closing my downward spiral that started on March 31, 2008 when I lost my job and home. (Well, the first time I lost everything; I lost everything again in 2012.)

As many of you know, I've had many difficult times since 2008, many that I blundered into. I still have plenty of problems, but I survived Thursday.

To wrap up on a happier note, I am not going on a date late next week!

Well, not officially.

We are going to "hang out". I took courage to invite her out. My brain said I would die of embarrassment if I tried. Much like Thursday, my brain lied to me! Using my words is scary, but not deadly.

Courage is important.
