Ugh, officially diabetic

Post by manuel_moe_g »

NP at doctor’s office gave me the bad news: I am officially diabetic

The numbers are not too too bad, she will try to manage with Metformin (Oral Route), if I finally get my diet under control I can beat the diabetes, grr

Oh, sweetie. Do you know of or have a dietitian?

When we are told we have a disease we immediately wish for the things we can't have. I recall bursting into tears in the supermarket and subway many times wanting food I couldn't have. We want to punish the vessel we currently inhabit and kick its arse for allowing disease to take hold.

If I can offer any words of advice, please accept, don't fight the emotions and deal with the issues that you face in baby steps. Small changes move mountains. Diet, movement and rest.

Your loved with or without disease. You have been a beautiful support for me so let me know how I can help.

Hugs from the southern hemisphere!

Thanks for the <hugs> Mental Fairy!

My first changes will be:

(1) fewer sugary drinks

(2) more healthy snacking

I will start there

my target is to have something sustainable over a lifetime, because this is my life
