Re: roommate or not to roommate, that is the question
I definitely see what you're saying about the benefits of living alone, MissingHiker. I think, though, that when I'm low, my instincts are the opposite of what's healthy. So, if I'm getting really down, thinking about hurting myself etc., although what I probably need is people, what my instinct wil...

Re: How to get people to give a shit about me
That's really inspiring. I think so much of our problems root in fighting reality instead of working to accept it. This doesn't mean that the present reality has to be the way things are forever.

Re: roommate or not to roommate, that is the question
Thanks, manuelmoe. It does seem a bit obvious when you say it that way. And it's not that dramatic, I guess. Facts are facts. I guess I resent needing people the way I do, but it doesn't change that I do. The motel room idea is a great one. It crosses my mind every once in a while, but I never ever ...

roommate or not to roommate, that is the question
Hi all, So lately I have been struggling with what to do in terms of my living situation. The basic breakdown is this: In fall of 2010, I moved in with people. I did this because I was increasingly unstable emotionally and depressed and having panic attacks, and I knew that living alone was bad for ...

Re: Nortriptyline
Thanks! I complained about it, citing that I was afraid I would gain weight from it, so she put me on something else called Propranolol, which I wasn't afraid of- for whatever reason. So I have been taking this. I have managed to have headaches on it, and even one migrain, but the things don't get a...

Re: The public face of addiction?
thanks moe. i was feeling a mighty rage.
i think sometimes that indicates that you are going through the pains of growing apart from people. or the pains of having ideals or developing ideals that are not reflected in your world.

Re: Life is like that two week long Chinese traffic jam...
first off, LOL Kind. Not inappropriate. Funny. Although that kid was WAY TOO TALL and the hug turned weird. (That scene is a guilty pleasure of mine. At once my heart is touched but I'm also fighting it cuz it's cheesy at this point.) Thanks for all of the responses, guys. I've been practicing some ...

I was prescribed this for migraines. It's a tricyclic anti depressant. Anyone have any experience with it? I'm scared of it.
Gracias!

The public face of addiction?
How do we change people's preconceptions about alcoholism/addiction? (or deal with them) Maybe this is more of a venting opportunity for me, but lately I have actually become so enraged by the stupid shit people say regarding addicts and addiction, while having NO PERSONAL EXPERIENCE with it, that I...
