Re: I'm terrible at introductions
Wow, Miklos, you are definitely gifted and talented...at beating the shit out of yourself. Just messing with you, man. I am a pro in that area as well. The first few things that occur to me (which might be helpful to you) are: - Stop living with your parents if at all possible. I know from per...

Re: Hi
Now I feel like a pompous ass for posting such long message previously. Fuck. Ok, inner critic, shut the fuck up.
Damn - too late. He won this round with an unexpected punch to the gut. Oh well, time to go into Rocky mode.
Anyway, what's got you so flat, Paul? Anything in particular? Ruminating much?

Re: Not sure
Welcome summer15, Glad you joined. You definitely aren't alone. What specifically brings you here? Depression? I just joined a few days ago. I like it so far, but there isn't a whole lot of activity on the boards. It's still a pretty small community - but that can be a good thing. Also, I think that...

Re: Sexual side effects
No, we never got around to it. I've been looking around the internet and haven't found anything about it. The only two supplements I can find that may reduce the sexual dysfunction caused by SSRIs are Ginkgo Biloba and Yohimbe.

Re: Sexual side effects
Good to know about 5-HTP. Now that you told me that, I actually think it must have been HMB that he was going to try. He wouldn't recommend something that would raise my serotonin levels even more.

Sexual side effects
I'm on Zoloft and Welbutrin (been on them for a while) and the Zoloft has come with sexual side effects. Nothing too drastic - just loss of some sensitivity and delayed ejaculation. The delayed ejaculation problem would be fantastic if I worked in porn, but such is not the case. My last psychiatrist...

Re: Lamictal
I could be wrong about this, but I think alcohol is more dangerous for people on anti-psychotic medications. I don't think it's as big of an issue with anti-depressants. I've been on anti-depressants forever and have never noticed any side effects when I've consumed alcohol - although I have been to...

The story about the only compliment he ever received in sports was hilarious.

That's phenomenal! Congrats! A month can seem like eternity when you are living with the kinds of stress we do. I am very proud of you and I admire your strength and self control. Keep going strong! And if you do happen to slip up, try not to beat yourself up about it too much. Just dust yourself of...

Re: Getting something out of therapy
First, I think you should be open and honest with your therapist about how you are feeling about the sessions. I know this can be difficult, but in my experience therapists are usually very appreciative and relieved when you open up about a concern or frustrations you have with them or the sessions....
