Off to buy lottery tickets
Sometimes I get into a thing where I start buying lottery tickets. So I have something to hope for. Plus buying them helps give me something nice to think about when I go to sleep. Then when I get up in the morning I don't check them right away because it lengthens the time that I COULD be a big win...

Re: Quotes or Lyrics that comfort you?
Ran across this one today.
“When you are content to be simply yourself and don’t compare or compete, everyone will respect you.”

Re: Episode 121: Christian Finnegan
This was really a great episode... I had to go back, listen again and list all the things I liked. These are the things I really identified with (or have other comments on) 39(th minute) - building his life around "not caring"... issues in life accrue faster than the explanations of how (h...

Re: I feel weak and run down
My therapist is trying to get me out of my head. Actually she has been for a couple of years. While I've made some progress it's probably time to expand my comfort zone.

Re: I feel weak and run down
Thanks fifth. I have thought that way in the past but normally I don't get that far. It just seems like having a pleasurable or happy life seems like such an unlikelihood.
At the same time, I suppose I could change my way of thinking this second... Which just makes me feel worse.

I feel weak and run down
Right so now I'm at one of these points in time where I can make myself something nutritious to eat for dinner or go out and get something quick and easy. Since I struggle with eating (actually, I don't struggle with it enough, haha) I find the whole process around grocery shopping, preparing food, ...

Re: just a nice little reminder
Sorry you feel this way ironhorse. I am one year older than you so I thought I would make a comment. At this age I've not really had any relationships of note. At least you have had some - perhaps there is a bright side to look on - sorry if this doesn't make you feel better.

Re: Lawn mowing shame
Hey Oak, I got a good laugh out of your "inside conversations"... I have those too some times. Its pretty crazy how we can take a good intention and turn it around on ourselves. David Burns has some similar "conversations" in his book, Feeling Good (cognitive behavioural therapy)...
