Re: Zoloft, Celexa, Wellbutrin XL
I've been taking 20mgs of Citalopram daily since July 2010, but because of some issues at my current treatment center (the previous psych nurse left and I don't have an appointment with the new psych nurse until 17 March), I'm afraid I might not have access to meds once I run out of my current scrip...

Re: I'm in love with Massachusetts...
Hey fifthsonata! Thanks for the kind words. Your post gives me a lot to which I should respond, but I wanted to also point you and others in the direction of a song. Turning people on to music. It's what I do. I quoted "I'm in love with Massachusetts" from the song "Roadrunner" b...

Re: How to set boundaries without being a jerk
My poor friend me, I'm nodding along with your comment! I'm really afraid of getting into details about these guys, but I will say the following: both of them are in unhappy marriages and have decided to "open up" their current marriages. I sense there's an element of them being out of the...

Re: How to set boundaries without being a jerk
Thanks for responding. Here's the thing...the folks in poly/open relationships are a small percentage of the group, and I don't expect them to change for me. What I find upsetting is hanging out with the men who (a) are poly/in open relationships and (b) have expressed their attraction to me. (There...

I'm in love with Massachusetts...
Hey everyone. I learned about Paul's podcast through MetaFilter, a community weblog that I read, and when I saw the title I knew I needed in. I'm a lifelong (so far) Massachusetts resident. I'm in my mid-30s and I've struggled with depression since I was six years old. About four years ago my relati...

How to set boundaries without being a jerk
Being able to set boundaries without being an abrasive jerk is one of the things I'm trying to work on. Over the past few months I've been trying to take part in this performance group. One of my friends invited me to try out for their fall show -- I had a supporting role as a high-strung bride-to-b...

Re: Sheet therapy
Funny you should say that. Celexa tends to make me tired only if I'm experiencing high stress levels or am feeling depressed. When I'm "in my element" and not feeling those things, it doesn't make me sleepy. So there's that.

Sheet therapy
I just discovered the Mental Illness Happy Hour through a post on MetaFilter about Maria Bamford. This is my first post here. Hey! So, this is where I'm at. I've suffered depression since I was about six years old. My parents divorced and I ended up in a series of unhealthy environments -- bullied a...
