Re: Quotes or Lyrics that comfort you?
My signature quote, by Margaret Atwood, is one of my favorites. Also, this quote by Gabriel Garcia Marquez from Love in the Time of Cholera : "He allowed himself to be swayed by his conviction that human beings are not born once and for all on the day their mother gives birth to them, but that ...

My love list
I love talking to my grandmother, who makes me feel so beautiful, compassionate, and smart. I love the feeling of accomplishment I get after an hour of hot yoga, like I have conquered an intense challenge. I love the bright orange flowers that grow by the side of the SR 37. I pass bunches of them ev...

My fear list
I’m afraid that I’m like my father—lazy, indecisive, and selfish. I’m afraid that I’m like my mother—overly sensitive, invalidating, and a martyr. Every time I hold a kitchen knife, I’m afraid that I will drop it and slice my toes off. When I’m in the car, I’m afraid I will suddenly cut the wheel an...

Re: Hugs would be super
I feel the exact same way. It's like you plucked the words right out of my brain. Since I've been on medication, it's been so much better, but people still get to me sometimes. Recently, I spent a weekend away with a too-clingy friend and absolutely wanted to claw my eyes out. So, I feel for you. Hu...

Re: What do you do to comfort yourself?
I HUG MY BIG TEDDY BEAR TOO! Haha. When my anxiety is at its worst, I curl up into a tiny ball and tense all the muscles in my body. After a couple minutes, I release the physical tension, and some of the emotional tension goes with it. I feel like that's kind of Girl, Interrupted, but whatever. In ...

Re: Social Anxiety Sufferers Welcome!
Hi, all. I discovered my social anxiety when I was a teenager. At 16, I was so nervous about saying the wrong thing that I basically became a mute. It was absolutely incapacitating. I didn't know there was a specific diagnosis for it until I finally sought out therapy for my depression and generaliz...

Re: Abilify
Just started Abilify to supplement my Paxil. The main side effect I've experienced is that it makes me hyper. I can't take it at night, because it messes with my sleep pattern. Not sure if I'll stay on it or not.
