Re: Being adopted.

[quote="Pamela"] This "finding" has been a mixed blessing - bittersweet at best, but, I do have a more solid foundation under my feet - I know where I come from and who I look like and why I am the way I am. Nature and nurture do go hand-in-hand in my experience. My adopted famil...

Re: Afraid of having BPD

Oh, also, I don't want to contribute to the demonisation of people with BPD. I have a close friend also diagnosed and she is wonderful, caring and compassionate. Not that it's a great film, but also, if you take a look at Girl Interrupted, the character portrayed by Winona Ryder is meant to have BPD...

Re: Afraid of having BPD

I'm no professional, but it doesn't sound like you meet enough of the criteria for BPD. I've been diagnosed with it, but don't really think I fit the diagnosis neatly. I'm not that impulsive and never self-harm. I also have many friends still around me that I've had for 10+ years, so I figure I can'...

Re: Social Anxiety Sufferers Welcome!

Two weeks on Zoloft and I still feel the same as always. My doc. said it takes 2 to 4 weeks to kick in. Anyone have any experience with it? What I'll start to feel and when? First time I took Zoloft over ten years ago I didn't think it did anything, so hadn't taken it since. But recently started it...

Re: Caffeine and depression

Absolutely it helps me! I have a feeling it's kind of a shortcut to motivation and energy, especially in the morning, especially if I have to go to my office job (which I don't enjoy). But I really find it helps me a) be more social, b) be more productive. It doesn't seem to work as well in the afte...

Re: Another anxious sunbeam

I actually haven't taken Xanax since being on Zoloft. But I remember it's calming properties. Thank you for picking up on that though. I did take half a Valium the other day and seemed to be ok, but I'm trying to manage with just Z. I think I'm in a particularly stressful period right now, and also ...

Another anxious sunbeam

Does anyone ever think that their depression is caused by their anxiety? I know the two are often co-morbid, but I feel like my depression is the result of all the pulsing negativity in my mind every day! I am so tired all the time and have been told it's because of anxiety, but that just makes me f...

Re: Hi

I love me some Bamford. Unwanted thoughts nearly ruined me at 18. I can remember the exact day and time that I "snapped"! They're not so bad now, but they do intrude, as is their wont.

Re: Well hello there

Hi! Nice to meet you. You're amazing to have dealt with all of that at 16. I hope that doesn't sound condescending, but I think you must have real strength. Thank you for posting a little bit of your story.
