Almost there (Wellbutrin/Prozac/Ambien/Xanax)
It's been a while since I've posted but I thought I'd update. I started with my psych at the end of June, and I've made tremendous progress. It's been a lot of adjustment, but he's very knowledgeable and I've come so very far from where I was in Spring/Early Summer. The full extent of my very dark p...

Re: Paul's request for feedback re: surveys
That would be a good idea too, ghughes, if Paul was willing to edit two separate podcasts. That way the people who normally skip through the surveys can just listen to the interview, and the ones who like the surveys can listen to the minisodes.

Re: Should I be working?
Working in a customer service position when you have social phobias, anxiety, or even low self esteem is very hard at first. This is compounded with the fact you're working at the type of place (fast food, retail) where the employees are notoriously treated like dirt by the public. I totally get whe...

Re: Paul's request for feedback re: surveys
I like hearing the surveys, but I think that having a structured way of presenting the surveys for each episode would be helpful. It's jarring (at least for me) to go from a Shame and Secrets to a Happy Thoughts survey, even if they are from the same person. Maybe have a structure something like: -L...

Feeling desire again, finally!
Yesterday morning, for the first time in YEARS, I actually woke up horny. It was a shock. Unfortunately for me, the kids were up and hubs was attending to them. I masturbated, and took great pleasure in informing my husband about it (whispered in his ear in the kitchen so the kids didn't hear, of co...

Re: How do you handle the hopelessness?
I keep breathing, and remind myself that one day I won't feel this way. It's the best I can do, and is very hokey. It gets harder every day, because it's been three damned years since I was happy. I tell myself that one day, waking up won't be such a chore, and one day, I might actually find somethi...

Re: Episode 119: Raped by his Sister: Listener “Tom”
I wouldn't call it irrational, Coleman. I don't feel like whatever they're going through isn't debilitating, but I just feel like they CAN'T say all that they want to say. I can't blame them, because if I were in the public eye, I wouldn't want all my inner conflict out for public consumption, I wou...

Re: Episode 119: Raped by his Sister: Listener “Tom”
I like the non-celebrity interviews...I feel like they're more open and honest, they aren't held back by the potential PR issues that could arise from things said in the interview. The celebrities a lot of times seem guarded. There's awkwardness sometimes with the listeners because they aren't used ...

Re: Mommy's Got the Blues... Sort of.
First of all, sending hugs. I don't think anything can prepare you for the radical shakeup of life that happens when you have a kid under the best of circumstances with a partner who believes in sharing childrearing 50/50. Everything changes, to the point where you have to schedule in taking a showe...

@weary, I thought I was the only one who didn't like to call in delivery orders! For a while, I only ordered from places with online systems. It seems like such a simple task, but I couldn't stand doing it.
