Re: Focus and concentration hindered by life problems
ghughes, I understand your point. If I had a job, even a crappy one, I would take your advice. But I literally have nothing else but school. It is my only source of income. I've applied for about 300 jobs in the past 4 years and have received 2 interviews. I NEED to go to school in order to have som...

Re: Focus and concentration hindered by life problems
I'd love to be able to take time off school, but I only have one semester left and my only source of income is tuition refunds. I've gotta go to school in order to get the money.

Focus and concentration hindered by life problems
I have a question that I hope someone here can help me with. I'm currently in a life situation that could be described as "royally fucked." I've been unemployed for four years despite my best efforts, currently penniless, a college student with one semester left before obtaining a degree, ...

Re: Rejection sensitivity differentiates unipolar & BP
Very interesting article. I have always had a particular strong sensitivity to rejection, but I do experience more of a heightened reaction when I'm depressed. When I'm manic, rejection barely affects me.

Re: Finally booked that appointment
So I had my appointment on Thursday. A very nice woman named Chelsea did my evaluation and I felt very comfortable explaining my situation. She recommended 6-8 sessions with a counselor to deal with my coping issues with the loss of my mom, as well as all the other wonderful things that came along w...

Re: Being a real worthless person
You're not worthless. If you want to feel like you're contributing to the world in a good way, VOLUNTEER! It's nearly impossible to fail at helping out at a soup kitchen. Donate old clothes. Chip in for a charity, or find a Kickstarter campaign you really are interested in and help them. There's a g...

Finally booked that appointment
With the help of a woman in Student Services at the college I attend, I've booked my evaluation at The Centers here in Florida. I tried before, but was apparently misled by an operator to think that while they do work on a sliding scale payment system, the evaluation appointment would be $200. After...

Re: What's the point?
I'm in the same boat, Rosedahlia. I live in a shitty redneck county in Florida, been unemployed for 4 years, I'm attending college but keep missing school because I have no money for gas to drive the 70 mile round trip. I can't afford therapy or meds, or food for that matter. I've lived on tuition r...

Re: Avoiding help.
Force yourself to do it, even it is excruciating. I have this problem too. I'm slowly learning to stop myself from fiddling with pointless crap and actually do something constructive. Whether it be household chores, schoolwork, or in your case, something that's helping your therapy, do it! You can e...
