Being smart doesn't matter
I think most people would appreciate being called smart. I hate it. Smart doesn't matter if you can't focus enough to use it consistently, and I can only ever seem to focus enough to use my brains in short spurts. Medication helps, but only so far-- it doesn't get rid of the negative self image, the...

Re: ADHD?
I think ADHD is under diagnosed massively over medicated and severely under addressed. Most people with ADHD don't need medication, I need medication (and take it) because I have severe ADHD, I also need therapy and coaching for it and I'm working on getting the help I need. The medication I take is...

Re: this may seem trivial but I need advice..
I found that using close enough words works for me "funk" "spit" "buzzard", it takes a little while to get into it but it works to curb the habit.

Re: Homeschooling special need child
You know, your username alone just makes me want to wrap you up in a hand knit shawl and get you a cup of tea. The fact that you're going through so much of the same stuff makes me want to force you to go to a spa and relax for a few days. I feel you. I researched neurofeedback early on, but as our ...

Re: Homeschooling special need child
Yes, to this day, any time he's corrected for doing something incorrectly or not at all it's a deeply personal attack on his existence. It's as simple as "There's a spot on this plate" "I just washed that plate" "I know, but there's a spot you missed" "There can't ...

Re: Homeschooling special need child
ODD sucks. It sucks for them as children but it sucks a lot for us as moms too. I thought my husband was exaggerating how difficult he found my son to be when we first started dating by comparison to his two children from his first wife. My theory is that working with abused and feral dogs permanent...

Re: Caffeine
Full disclosure: I drink Voltaire levels of coffee and am a total monster without it, I don't do any other drugs (OTC or illicit) and only take medication when it is prescribed. Have you considered switching to tea after the first cup of Joe gets you out of bed? Dry tea vs. dry coffee does actually ...

I love your love too. I also love the fact that you taught me a new word today. Pavera.

My loves
I love finding a new keiki on an orchid. I love going to start a chore only to find that someone else has already done it for me. I love it when I'm walking my dog and a little kid will rush up to pet her. I love the sound of rain in the desert. I love that my 16 year old son still makes artwork for...
