Re: Parenting with major depression

That's what I struggle with. I feel that's all I am...a mom. I try to remind myself I need to take a step back and breathe.

Re: Just bad at life and adulting, a rant.

Firstly, that woman has no idea what are normal boundaries and is fucked up. She's toxic, clearly has mental issues and has to control everyone. I swear I see my mother in her. She's narcissistic with borderline personality disorder. I commend you on knowing exactly how fucked up she is. I don't kno...

Re: Pregnancy and ADD

The main thing if you're on Concerta or other stimulant drugs is physical withdrawal. My son had issues sleeping when he was carefully withdrawn off of one such med to start another. He couldn't get his mind to quiet down. I don't have ADD probably to the extent you do, so my expertise is only from ...

Parenting with major depression

I've been gone from the forum for a long time. I'm finally going through a divorce, and have had to go on public assistance to keep food on the table while I file for disability. I've been struggling to stay afloat as I've found half my specialists and therapists don't accept Medicaid and my ex got ...

Re: I'm Here, I'm Queer, I'm still getting used to it

I don't think the Khaos komix is really appropriate for her. She's had tons of sex education (something I wish I'd had in school) but she has asexual tendencies. The thought of sex or anything sexually explicit is kind of "cringeworthy" for her. I think she craves intimacy more than anythi...

Re: I'm Here, I'm Queer, I'm still getting used to it

Thank you so much for your advice! There is a LGBTQ student group at her high school and I know there's a support center at a nearby city which I plan on going to for more support. I only asked her twice about 6 months apart what she was feeling since her relationship with her girlfriend didn't seem...

Re: I'm Here, I'm Queer, I'm still getting used to it

I have a teen who is probably going through a little what you've experienced your whole life, minus the abusive past. She's my daughter, although I do use male pronouns when she feels she identifies more male. She's feeling gender fluid. No labels like gay, transgender, bisexual, etc. because she ha...

Re: S.A.D. but maybe not so bad.

Yes, I'm vitamin D deficient as well. I also get SAD. I also don't get enough sunlight. To deal with the problem of sleepiness, I use a full spectrum light (as close to 10000 lux as I can get) in the AM. Don't get me wrong, I still struggle even with meds in the winter (I live in MI). A way to deal ...
