Re: exhausted
sometimes I just stare into my phone, my tablet, my laptop to run from my own thoughts. This is not how I want to live, but there is just so much going on that I can't manage that I hide. It's awful. I want to climb out of this hole, but I don't know where to begin.

exhausted
It has literally been years since I've posted - but I'm back. A lot has happened in the intervening years, mostly good, but some bad. Right now my big struggle is exhaustion. I've been pouring myself into my work, and while my career has reaped the benefits, I think my overall health is suffering, e...

We're Baaaaaack
I suppose I'm grateful that its been so long since I've fallen into such a deep depression. However I let myself hope that I would never feel this way again, yet here I am. I'm still functioning reasonably well. I can go to work, put on a pretty normal face, and be reasonably clean but things are st...
Re: Phones
oh man! you are so not alone with this phone thing. I've mostly gotten past my phone anxiety but it is still socially awkward for me to be on the phone with strangers. I had a couple of phone interviews some months ago and I was always sure to dress comfortably, let myself wander around and fidget i...

Re: Seeking any SSRI takers for honest reviews
I tend to be very weary of any online thread relating to medication reviews; the often seem to become little more than a haven for horror stories. However this one is shaping up nicely, so let me go ahead and ask my two cents. Which SSRI did you take? Fluoxetine, currently 30mg / day. I take it with...

Re: job hunting anxiety - encouragement wanted
a little update for the curious: The new job is still going well. :D I've hit a few snags since I've been here but have managed to get over them. Overall I feel that I'm settling in nicely, am learning a lot and have a good understanding of how this position could fit into my long term caree...

I'm so sorry. I've never been in a situation like yours, but I can see that it is truly heartbreaking. If you ever want to vent more, know that this is a safe space to do that.

Re: job hunting anxiety - encouragement wanted
Update number 2  I GOT THE JOB! Remember that first job I was interested in? good company, good pay, career potential, all that jazz ? Well I got it! I thought they had passed me over because I hadn't heard from them in a while, but in reality there was just a little administrative s...

Re: Why now?
I don't really have any words of advice, but I want you to know that you are not alone. In fact, I have been wondering the same thing all day. This time last year, I was 40lbs lighter with clear goals that seemed well within my reach. I've always had a can do attitude and I've always made things wor...
