Hi all, I'm headed out of town for a week or so and I won't have my laptop with me.
Wishing everyone a peaceful healthy week and I'll catch up when I get back.

Pinning a post in the Autism forum?
Hi,
The Autism forum here is hardly active at all. But someone might wander in and be afraid to post.
I've put up a "welcome" post intended for women and nonbinary folks who are new to these forums and looking for help.
Could we get that post pinned by any chance?
Thank you!

Welcome to the forums. This is a super supportive place. If you're new to your diagnosis or if you simply suspect you're autistic... I'm an autistic woman, late DXed, so I've had a lot of reading and learning to catch up on. To start with I would recommend these books: Women and Girls on the Autism ...

Can't wait to start treatment! HRT first, then psych meds
My Trintellix script is written and all ready to go. HOWEVER... My therapist, who's an autistic woman near menopause like me, told me about her very successful experience with HRT (hormone replacement therapy). Apparently she was melting down on a daily basis (sounded familiar to me) and was always ...

Had my assessment, found a therapist, feeling optimistic!
Hi all, I had my assessment with my new psychiatrist last week... and as an anonymous Redditor said about her, she does seem to be in fact awesome. Honestly, I trust somebody named BlackWidowWeb on Reddit to give an honest eval more than I would trust Google or Yelp reviews with pretty photos. The d...

Re: 3-day weekend
I am up for an online meetup whenever it may happen. I'm also going to be in Waco, Texas for a doctor's appointment in August and will post elsewhere ... hoping someone lives close by.

This little community has become super important to me too. There's a lot of love and wisdom here even though we struggle mightily.

Re: Tired and Sad
Hi Nightcitysong, I'm glad you're here and I hope things ease up for you soon. Sounds like a lot of heavy stuff is going on. "Not using partying/love addiction/distractions means you're just IN the pain and it hurts." I identify with this a lot. "I know a bunch of people living with f...

Just did voice practice... (a slightly upbeat tale)
I included some of the type of work that's really been triggering me of late... and I didn't have a meltdown. And I sang a couple of tunes as well, more work on that to come. At the moment I'm trying to actually enjoy it as opposed to obsessing on all the gaps between where I am and where I might be...

GeneSight and other genetic tests for med efficacy / dosage?
Hi all,
I've had 3 out of 3 people report very good experiences with genetic testing to point out meds that will / won't work well for a particular person.
Admittedly my sample size is very small. Would anyone here care to share their own experiences?
Thanks!
