To our kids and young peopel writing in....
Guys, at 50, think of me as your cool grandfather. I am 50, but still race motorcycles and enjoy seeing how far over 200 mph I can go. Sometimes, that even on a racetrack. Other times, I'm the guy who blasts by your car. You parents presume thats a goddamn teenager who just scared the shit out of th...

Re: Violent Nightmares - WHY?!
I have the same things happening to me, and have had since I started taking seraquil. Its as if the medicine turned a dream into something happening in 3d imax, or such. I've found tv to aggravate the dreams, What I watch right before I go to sleep makes a big difference in what dream will happen. I...

Re: Parent that had to cut off abusive children
Oak, wow! Did you nail this one. Just wow. I do agree. Emo, Your kids, and their wives, girlfriends or whatever they are, are forming lives for themselves. Back out, let them figure it out, and do not be there to clean up the mess. Cleaning up the mess deprives a young adult of having a chance to gr...

Re: How to be okay with being single?
Also, you think being single is the end of your life, and thats just it. Its over. Its lonely. Tell that to the man or woman married to the wrong partner and glued to them because of the kids. They would give anything, and often do, just to get to where you are.

Re: Seeing a therapist for binge drinking and procrastinatio
Nice work, good job, and your on the right path. My last counselor had a tough job. He was the leader of the group, obviously, and we all had such differing substances we abused and were addicted to. Anywhere from folks who huffed spray paint to the millionaire who drank 200.00 worth of scotch, per ...

Re: Episode 251: Rama
Rama was one of my favorite. Beautifully honest, and I love her voice.
I wear contact lenses and suffer from dry eyes. No problems at all during Ramas podcast, It appears she cured that, at least temporarily.
Thanks to her for sharing her life with us.

Re: How to be okay with being single?
Five years ago I would not have said this, but after seeing five people i know find the love of their lives online, why the hell not? They all have great relationships, too, and four of them met on Craigs list. As you can see from this forum, people are willing to take emotional risks, when writing....

Re: Talking to my therapist about depression symptoms
You mentioned school, so I'll assume you are young. I wish I'd learned this earlier, or realized it, but that time in the therapist chair is YOUR time. YOU matter. YOU get to explore all those thoughts you have. If one of those thoughts makes you think you could be depressed, throw it out there too ...

Re: Adult children
Honest, all your doing right now is taking a few steps back so you can allow him to find/build a life. With you paying for his life, and ultimately controlling it, he has no reason to find his own. Then when he does find his life, you re-enter. Its very sad if you dont allow this. I have a 40 year b...
