And man, is it kind of cold. . .
Hello, everybody. I'm a graduate student finishing a Masters in Counseling Psychology. I found this podcast about a month ago and have skimmed through about 1/5 the backlog in the meantime (daily commutes, road trips, weekend sit-around time, etc.)
My focus is outpatient individual therapy for adolescents and young adults, but I'm interested in working with people in stages of transition of all kinds (divorce, death of family members, retirement, etc.)
What I appreciate about the podcast is its simplicity: there is a powerful virtue just in talking to people and listening to them, in being exposed to the experiences of others (not just the bad ones), and in recognizing that even people who "have it all together" actually don't. I think message boards like this also contribute to that idea: an environment where people can share with and grow from one another.
Glad to be here and I look forward to some interesting conversations.
