OK, old joke.

I sent Paul an email about a family member who is a narcissist, and asked how to deal with it.

I guess I should add that I am an addict, have been addicted to and am in recovery of opiates/drugs in general, alcohol, nicotine, and my current ACTIVE addiction is gambling.

I recently found out I was not imprinted or bonded as a child, as my mother took Dexedrine (accept practice back then) while pregnant with me, which is a very powerful amphetamine, and for the first year of my life i was withdrawing from it and so fucked up that nobody could touch me without me freaking out, so I guess I was not imprinted.

This would explain why none of my relationships work very well, even though I am still married to my second wife of 24 years.

Wow, hearing about your withdrawal when you were an infant is shocking... Your mom was not at fault, but you certainly paid a big price for it... I don't think any scientist can really know for sure how much that has affected your brain and I'm sure it's related to your addictions you now have. It must have been shocking to find out about your history...but maybe it brought some clarity and relief as well...

Being married to your wife for 24 years is a huge deal. I'm married too, but outside of my family, I don't do well with other people. I'm super sensitive so I get offended really easily. Thanks for sharing your story.

What does being married outside your family mean?



I am so happy I found Paul's podcast, my heroine addicted son is getting great help from it, he is the one who turned me on to it.

Oh sorry, I meant to say, I'm married and that's wonderful, but other than my husband and my family, I don't do well with the general public Hope that makes sense.
