Borderline Personality Disorder and Me!

I am Chrissy and I have BPD. I also have PTSD and many other sub maladies. I am looking good in my outlook of my life. I was diagnosed in 1983 while in the US Army. I was medically retired by the Army without benefits. Then in 2002 I found the VAMC here in Portland, OR. They have been treating me ever since. Then in 2009 I started going to a group called Connection put on by NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness). http://www.nami.org/. I am now a facilitator for 2 groups on Tuesdays. Life hasn't always been happy and fun. I have been up at the VA psych ward 30 times since 2002. I am now a Peer Support Specialist. But I don't work, I volunteer as I get benefits from the VA and from SSDI. I am also in a good relationship with a man who accepts who I am without reservation.
