Long time listener, first time poster

.... ok, I may have lied a little, this is my second post. But it sounded like a fun title.
Hi, I call myself Impetuous as I am, well just a touch impetuous. Clinically, I'm an Adult ADHD'er that was raised by Borderline Mother and pathologically passive Father. Stir briskly for 15 years (age I moved out of my parent's home) and you get an anxious space cadet with enmeshment issues and depression sprinkles! (somebody's got sundaes on the brain)
Adore Paul's show, it's like an hour of acceptance. Just right there, sitting close to the end of my week; acceptance sweet acceptance!
Currently, I'm in DBT with a very skilled therapist. ("it's like you're not getting enough time to think things through before you make a decision... have you ever been tested for ADD?") At the moment, we're spending a lot of time working on my assertiveness skills, generally untangling my psyche from the mother I haven't spoken to since 1999 (does anyone have a pair of $%&*@ scissors?!), and digging at my depression with an asparagus fork.
My husband and I have been married for nearly 20 years. Don't ask me how we've done it, I think we've just clung to each other out of sheer necessity.
Looking forward to getting to know folks, and will happily chime in on any executive function stuff I know from personal experience.
Warm Fuzzy Wishes to All!
