Thought provoking episode. I don't know what the answer is but he did give a different perspective that I never really thought about. The drug war seems futile. The epidemic of drug use is not the priority in this war. It is just a never ending war. But with the experience this country has had with prescription opiods, I think legalization and handing the drug trade over to big pharma doesn't sound like a good idea either.
It definitely seems like we need more focus on addiction treatment and mental health in this country, but our government doesn't seem interested in dealing with these problems.
