I like hearing the surveys, but I think that having a structured way of presenting the surveys for each episode would be helpful. It's jarring (at least for me) to go from a Shame and Secrets to a Happy Thoughts survey, even if they are from the same person. Maybe have a structure something like:

-Listener Emails
-The Heavier Surveys (Shame and Secrets, I Shouldn't Feel this Way, Struggle in a Sentence, etc)
-The main Interview
-Close with Happy Moments to end on a positive note

Just my thoughts...

Just a thought but maybe surveys should be in a minisode like Doug Benson does with his podcast. Leave the interviews as an episode unto themselves. Thoughts?

I like the way Paul did it in this weeks episode 121.

That would be a good idea too, ghughes, if Paul was willing to edit two separate podcasts. That way the people who normally skip through the surveys can just listen to the interview, and the ones who like the surveys can listen to the minisodes.

LOOOOOVE the surveys and emails! Half the show should be those and if the show length is 2+ hours, even better!!

Also, mayhaps introduce listener voice mails? I know google voice lets you download mp3s and that was an awesome segment on a podcast I used to do. :)

I like it just the way it is.
I enjoy listening to the surveys.
I believe he picks the ones he finds interesting and shares them in kind of a random manner.
