Ep 181

I'm not sure what to think on this one. On the one hand I'm rooting for Lauren, with the other I'm a bit miffed. He's taking to a identity that feels more to the soul of his experience, but is not opposed to just ignoring that to accept women's rolls as an actress? That smacks of hypocrisy to me. Now if agents and casting people are saying go ahead do that, does it make it right? Personally I say no, you are essentially spitting on other transgender folks in your profession and just feeding into old school norms and stereotypes just to make money. Laverne Cox would be my best example of someone not doing this. She plays her character on Orange is the new black while her brother plays the pre-transitioning roll. I know this is not a field I feel I'm an expert in but from what Chemda and Lauren have both said in their respective interviews I'm not quite getting a vibe that either of them are being completely honest with themselves.
