Sounds very similar to Eckhart Tolle teachings. Dropping the ego and listening to the space between words.

I experienced a craving that I feared might open a crack in the floor if I didn’t satisfy it immediately.

I set a timer for ten minutes. If I still felt the craving might cause the crack then, I would take steps to satisfy it.

If I didn’t I would reward myself anyway for preventing the crack.

10 minutes passed and so did the craving.

I can’t really decide on a reward. I don’t want to force myself.

Maybe the fact you acknowledged the feeling and responded in such a way is a reward, is it not?

In some meditation teachings I listen to they call it "surfing the desire". I've spent so much time in the ocean body surfing in past years that it's easy to picture letting the swells drop and lift me.

It seems a little funny/sad that it can be hard to think of a reward, that even rewards can feel like pressure. Not making fun of you, Beany, I know that feeling well.

I know this wouldn't be very Beany-like but I sort of hope you'll become a guru and then I can join your movement. ;)

I am feeling overwhelmed right now. Normally that would elicit anxiety. For once (or of late) I seem to be in harmony with it.

There’s still a feeling like it could all start rolling out of control.

There’s also a feeling like, stay present for the countless course corrections coming.

I’m just going to let something happen without really understanding what it will be, or what I have to do with it.

i don't know if appropriate for here, but seems kinda <Beany-Zen>...

i will write up more about this in it's own thread

but i am going to try to start treating my procrastination, not as bad or good, but simply being neutral

same as if i had a leg that was weaker than my other leg, i wouldn't treat the weaker leg as morally bad

also, basically treat procrastination as a <physical> problem to be solved <physically> instead of trying to <think> my way out of it

"a body in motion tends to stay in motion" - when a gap opens between stimulus and response, just commit to a little action on the task, hopefully if get the ball rolling, the ball will stay rolling

if it takes a while for a gap to open between stimulus and response, that is not bad or good, it is just neutral, just a function of my brain structure, outside of my control, don't blame myself

< sorry to interrupt, now back to your regularly scheduled <<<Beany-Zen>>> > :)

Hi MM

This I understand completely. Thank you for posting that.

Beany, can I ask if you note changers in actions like inconsistent thought patterns? Fidget a lot or feeling like something standing over your shoulder?
