Re: Mindfulness
Hey Beany
Ok so I’ve been doing a whole lot of research on sleep. I must ask for you too look at something for me…look up Huberman Lab on any podcast platform. His first two talks is on sleep. I’ve walked many blocks these last few days listening to him and I thought of your every time I took notes! Yes I take notes while on walks. My son kindly gave me a lovely leather flip folder to write stuff in! With covid I can’t run so I walk and take notes!!
I hope this confirms your findings my friend! Cause it certainly did mine!

Re: Mindfulness
I had an interrupted sleep last night but it was still at least 8 hours.
Still experiencing the benefits previously mentioned.
In the last few days, I successfully navigated 3 delicate passages in 3 different relationships; something I know I’d not be able to do before now.
With that, the habit of putting people on pedestals (and standing myself in a hole) has stopped happening automatically. That’s new.
Otherwise, everything just feels a little softer, slower and more optional.
I’m thinking about minimizing my sugar and internet consumption now, to compliment and accentuate the new sleep benefits.

Thanks MM
Feeling weak and confused cannot stop me trusting in things like good sleep when the opportunity appears. I think that’s what I’ve learnt from this.

Re: Mindfulness
It’s officially 2 weeks now.
I noticed a capacity for resilience appearing the last 2 days. Nothing dramatic, just a subtle shift. I think that’s what I meant below by ‘weak and confused’.
It’s not a definition of resilience I would have thought of previously. But feeling weak and confused without being compelled to shut it down sort of fits ‘resilience’.
Or vulnerability.

Re: Mindfulness
I had my mind blown this week.
I listened to a podcast episode about ADHD.
‘Over-optimism’ is a notable behavior. Did not expect that. It is adapted as a coping mechanism; to ‘deal with the many setbacks’. It can be a source of fear too, to witness, by people in the support-network.
I have definitely felt the fear, observing the behavior, especially in the undiagnosed. I also think I go there myself without being conscious of it; hence the blown mind.

Re: Mindfulness
I have had some surprising successes this week. I’ve managed to push a few different people back; not necessarily away, but back, across my boundary line so that I feel comfortable. Until recently, this would have filled me with unbearable guilt. Now, there’s just the strong urge to protect myself and the integrity of the relationships.
I can’t put it all down to better sleep hygiene. It did certainly make it easier to draw myself up though and reposition.
