You are absolutely right.
The dosage I was taking was the lowest and I stopped taking it because the dr changed the med for another one.

I'm at 300mg of effexor and am wanting to slowly get off them. Most people on the internet mention the withdrawals associated with effexor; brain-zaps, dizziness, mood changes etc. But the best advice (just by reading forums) was from a guy who was prescribed 25mg dose of effexor, then when he wanted to lower that, he cut the pill in half. I'm going to hold onto that advice when I'm at that stage, because I can't wait to get off effexor. But the 25mg pills is something to consider and i hope it helps.
