Another birthday he can't celebrate

Anyone else feel a bittersweet twinge in their heart when someone whose suicide you survived has a birthday roll around?

Mr. Watie (my late husband) killed himself just over 9 years ago, a month before he turned 52. So this is the tenth time after his death that his birthday is rolling around again. I take the day off and try to get together with at least one friend. Sticking to that plan again.
I have an added distraction in the form of a breakup to contend with this year too. :shifty: I've got a decent support system, so I'll be ok.

Oh hun that’s tough. My thoughts are with you. We just learn to cope year after year. No such thing as getting easier, just managing different ways each year.

I am sorry for your loss.

You are not alone.

Plans so far: breakfast with one of my oldest friends, and perhaps a solo stroll around a local park of amusement I have a pass for and use up the food coupons I have.

And probably charging my trusty car because it's got a small battery and I'm using the A/C a lot. Lol

Moonlightwatie, I hope you’re doing better and got your walk in.
