Sleep - General Thread

I just had a shitty nights sleep, and it really came back to bite me in the afternoon.
Thought I could "power past" but got pretty groggy after a con call or two and tried to nap. (WFH option today).
That's when the dark thoughts and agitation started. Not tired enough to truly sleep, but too tired to get up. What a fucked-up limbo for a couple of hours. Real mental agitation.
Fortunately, it passed.
So - I'm now picking up the books I'd checked out recently from the library;
The Promise of Sleep - William C. Dement
Why We Sleep - Matthew Walker
Why We Dream - Alice Robb
First one is really comprehensive, written in 1999 by the founder of the first Sleep Disorders center in Stanford U. The other two are more recent.
Put em aside for a while, distracted by other things, but last night piqued my interest again. You don't think about it till you don't get it...
