Happy, content: I took action today.

Post by oak »

I did something today that I haven't done in ten years: contact my creditors.

Today I have a responsible, full time job with benefits; am sober, and now I am taking steps to wrap up the debt I accumulated ten years ago. None of these three things have been true at the same time during my adult life. Today they're true.

Talking with my lawyer beforehand (one of my benefits), we came up with a plan to pay them off and clear my conscience. Then I found the courage to contact them. It went fine.

Later today I walked with my head a little higher. I am a bit more moral, and can look myself in the mirror a bit better.
