Happy vignettes

1. "Here you go, Oak" the pretty barista said to me, handing me my order at the coffeeshop yesterday.

Though they often asked for my name for my order early this summer, I had no idea they knew my name, or that I am somebody worth remembering my name. I've always loved people using my name.

2. I earned a new belt in taekwando!

3. Expecting rain later today, I walked to the grocery store while it is still sunny out.

4. While at the store my favorite song of all time was playing.

(They say music from age 19-21 imprints on you, which is why I love this, and Oasis, so much. I think it is also telling that this song is about a young man losing the woman, but being a good sport. Sometimes art tells truths I can't even tell myself.)

5. Using the groceries, I made carnitas tacos with pinto beans and fresh pico.

6. Thursday is my favorite day of the week, and this is my favorite time of year. Now I get to listen to my friend's Afro-Latin jazz radio show.

I am very grateful for all I have.

I am grateful that a powerful example of a self-actualized man is my friend and brother.

Breakfast at Tiffany's is a good song. It is always nice when a breakup song can be catchy and pleasant and not just full of despair. it is dealing with the heartbreak while still being in denial.
