Oak's Holiday Gifts
Posted: January 2nd, 2021, 9:13 am
Everyone within the sound of my internet voice gets the following for 2021 in their non-denominational holiday receptacles:
10% less upset, anguish, and drama
5% more happiness
25% more small joys from life, which for me are my daily carnitas tacos/caffeine/Buspar, but adjusted to whatever you need to get through the day
6% more financial security
Specifically:
Manuel Moe: new insights and inspirations of the connections of flights of fancy between coding and RAIN, with your excellent counselor as your co-creator
Beany Boo: A smooth transition to your new living situation. As someone who has experienced housing-precariousness for years myself, I wish 0% noisy neighbors and 100% of the hot showers you need and want.
Brownblob: Frankly, you get some of the best gifts, and you deserve them. My wish is for, in the next twelve months of let's face it, life is difficult: three moments of transcendence. Even if each is just a second long, three moments of connection and meaning. While these seem like small wishes for you, I wish big meaning for you in 2021.
Snoringdog: You have such a fine mind, and I hope you get to see four movies that you take a chance on, and prove deeply rewarding. For me in 2020 for every not-for-me "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" (surely a good movie, just not for me, in spades) or "Horse Girl" (profound, but a lot to deal with), I wish four "Safety Not Guaranteed", "The Art of Self Defense", "Fundamentals of Caring", or "Unicorn Store"-type movies: quirky (and sometimes dark) outsiders that bring subtle joy, but real joy. You deserve some joy and whimsy and delight in 2021.
RiverGirl: This will require some self-assembly, but will repay your effort many times over: Your own place, and it being the right place. You'll have to check out a number of places to move to. If you go visit enough, and it may take 10-15, you will find it, and you will know immediately. After immediately paying the deposit and signing the background check, post here.
And last but certainly not least, our host Mr. Paul Gilmartin: in addition to continued professional success, ten new Patreon patrons.
