Just did voice practice... (a slightly upbeat tale)

I included some of the type of work that's really been triggering me of late... and I didn't have a meltdown. And I sang a couple of tunes as well, more work on that to come.

At the moment I'm trying to actually enjoy it as opposed to obsessing on all the gaps between where I am and where I might be. For master's level work, identifying gaps and flaws in performance is essential, but right now I simply can't do that. I've completely lost sight of how to enjoy it AT ALL and I need to get that back.

Hello Techchick,

Just read your previous post, and then this one.
Glad you're able to relax a bit and enjoy it - isn't that why any of us sing to begin with?

I love music, and choral arrangements, but have a very limited vocal range, which bugs me. But not everyone has the ability, no matter how much they train or try
(Remember Nancy Sinatra and "These Boots are Made for Walkin'"? :o  )

But that doesn't stop me from singing in the shower, or in the car..

Stick with it, but enjoyment first!
