Tired and Sad

Hey everyone,

Haven't posted on here in so long! How am I feeling... Well, pretty rough, but I've also come a long way.

Main things

- Heartbroken after the end of my 2.5 year relationship
- Struggling with setting boundaries with my family and the reality they can't be there for me. I know a bunch of people living with family for comfort during Covid and the reality that would never work for me is...triggering.
- Therapy is heavy. So much grief. Doing inner child work and there's a lot of crying.
- Not using partying/love addiction/distractions means you're just IN the pain and it hurts.
- Covid/city I live in meaning I don't really have a proper healthy community, so I feel isolated.
- Depressed - sleeping a lot.

So... Yeah.

How is everyone else?

Hi Nightcitysong,
Welcome back sorry you're feeling rough. Sorry that things are rough for you right now. Relationships ending can be hard. It is also hard not to have a support system. Best of luck while you muddle through.
As for me I'm isolated, tired and depressed.

Hi Nightcitysong,

I'm glad you're here and I hope things ease up for you soon. Sounds like a lot of heavy stuff is going on.

"Not using partying/love addiction/distractions means you're just IN the pain and it hurts."

I identify with this a lot.

"I know a bunch of people living with family for comfort during Covid and the reality that would never work for me is...triggering."

I could have written that sentence.

Like the board title says, you're not alone. Please keep posting here and let us know how you're doing.

Welcome, nightcitysong,

I love your user name.

You're doing important work in therapy, but it can be so painful.

I too identify with not having family support. One thing that began to bother me during Covid was the idea that everyone was suffering from the shutdowns in the same ways. Like someone said (here or elsewhere, I don't remember) some of us went through this past year in a yacht, and others were barely hanging on to a life preserver.

I hope this forum will feel like a bit of community to you. Take care,

rg
