I think I pushed my mental health counselor away. I also think it turned out okay.

Whether it is good or bad, talk about it here.

I think I pushed my mental health counselor away. I also think it turned out okay.

Hi friends.

We are only as sick as our secrets, so here goes:

In the last two weeks, I found my mental health counselor becoming a little distant, or less warm.

I think it turned out okay, in the last session or two, for reasons I can explain in a following post here in this thread.

But for now, (1) I just wanted to get this out and (2) like any relationship, I can monitor the flow and change. I can keep my eyes open.

Unless, you can pinpoint something that prompted them to take a step back, it’s possible it’s something going on in their own life or other work that’s affecting their… affect.

An unspoken change could be a few different things. And even if it is due to something you suspect, it may turn out differently in a controlled therapeutic setting, to what you’ve experienced in the past.
