During morning shower, i was taken back to my state of mind when i was 25-years-old and had my mental breakdown. Back then, I really thought it was just about depression, nothing more. I felt a wave of pity for that little young dude of 25, he had no idea of the scope of what he was up against. I hate that my brain is 95% self-defeating mush.

[unfortunately, I think some PTSD and C-PTSD mixed in, the negative symptoms are there, my biography says it is likely. I wish I wasn’t such a train wreck — but I am a train wreck and a lot of clues strewn about the wreckage]

Hang in there, Manny. Seems you hit a rough patch, we'll help you through. What would you like me to draw for you?

Oh cool!

I love the drawing of electrical poles & wires of R Crumb and Kiyohiko Azuma who draws Yotsuba Japanese manga

So banal but lovely in its own way, since form follows function it has a natural quality even though 100% man-made

But, really, up to you, Troebia

I love it all, you are a real artist and it all speaks to me

Here is my attempt, Manny:

I had a look online at Azuma's work which is much more contained than R. Crumb's. Something to do with Japanese precision, maybe. I've often looked into Crumb's work for inspiration but it's a bit like visiting a Flemish 17th century masterpiece, I become dumbstruck and almost depressed. The level of interiorisation of every figure that he has while drawing is almost godly. One can try to imitate, but never achieve that special freshness. I was shocked when I watched a documentary about him and saw that his favorite pen was a Rotring technical pen that allows only minimal line variation and expression: he made it work anyway!

Holy shit, it is so perfect. It captures the spirit of the thing, I swear I first thought it was a xerox of a xerox of a black and white photo!

It looks like a lonely creature of the city

I love it! Thank you for painting it, Troebia!

You're welcome, Manny

It's actually quite an easy subject to draw and paint, almost meditative, only black ink. You should have a go yourself :D

I can’t get over how beautiful it is, forlorn

A lot of emotional content
