Beaten down

The last few weeks have been rough.
Work has been a nightmare. Thankfully I've been applying for other jobs, which gives me a little boost when I hit the submit application button. I don't mind what I do but I spend my day dealing with people's problems (I work in IT) and I'd love to receive a call or email that doesn't contain a rant or complaint.
Wifey had a job offer, she thought she was going to start in two weeks. The official start date is mid September. I think we'll be ok until then, just no spending that isn't required. She lost her job when she had a disagreement with a patient and told her boss that he had no idea how to run a home health agency.
My folks, who I have an odd relationship with, are visiting this w/e. Dad has some narcissistic disorder and is difficult to be around and mom is just moon bat crazy at times. Wish I could medicate and spend the w/e in a coma.
Upside is that I have the w/e off. Some chores to do but most I'll let wait until next week. Going to go paddle on the river in the morning, rain or not. I need to do a bunch more activity, that seems to help me with the funk.
