Had to Google that, a giant grasshopper!
We have something similar here and one single individual can destroy a whole row of planted lettuce, so sadly the only way of dealing with it is to squash it and feed it to the hens. It's not an endangered species.
You're always welcome to stay in the bedroom that mother-in-law isn't using

Haha yeah the weta is a bit of a beast here. It even hissed with its legs up. A weta doesn’t bother me but white tail spiders send my heart racing.
I think if I come over there I could disturb the mother in law enough to make her leave, the kiwi accent is enough to make anyone run away!
Would walk in wearing my red band gumboots, swandri shorts and flannel shirt with a lamb or sheep beside me and some Velcro gloves! Google that, all while having a portable speaker playing

Well team, I’ve awoken to a somewhat overcast day, so I’m heading for the hill.
Yes, you’re reading correctly. Currently packing some kit and going to make some food. Will take Donya on a tour of a particular part of the hill that leads to the summit track, you are all coming with me.
Honestly, if I could zoom call you all it would incredibly cool! However, you will have to enjoy the photos once I post, hopefully not of the bottom of the hill!!!!!! Up up and away!

Laying here waiting for 8:45. Then picking up Donya and heading up the mountain/hill!
Watching my cat rolling in my clothing trying to get my scent all over her. It’s adorable beyond words.
Joes taken my drunken uncle out to buy some garden stuff while he’s sober to try get him out of the house. I really can’t find the energy to deal with drunken uncle. However, the last two Sundays he’s not had a drink at our home.
I’m trying to ignore my nerves and excitement about going up the hill. We had a little dusting of snow yesterday, absolutely beautiful.
Time to test the fitness!

Hello Mental Fairy,
I hope you've had a wonderful trek up the mountain with Donya today. You deserve many joyful moments after all of your trials and tribulations this past year I'm listening to your Mindset episode as I type this! It's so good to hear your voice & your lovely accent.
Many hugs,
rivergirl

Hi rg!
Welcome home! Thank you just coming down off the hill. Photos to come. It was harder than I thought.
