"Salty Dog"
Apparently authenticity
has always been an illusion;
The pareidolia stain of a now
evaporated false belief.
And for years I dutifully built
a ship to sail this sea of misinterpretation
toward the shore of nowhere
...But, now, at least I know.
I am the Magellan of
my own indubitable stupidity.

You can never have too many poems!
I think this one definitely has to be read out loud for the full effect (though I had to guess at the pronunciation of pareidolia). The alliteration and assonance are lovely -- just enough to ring pleasantly in your ear without being overbearing. It's not something you can really appreciate by just reading it.
Surely you can sail a different sea, yes? And discover something worthwhile...
