A poem to describe overcoming my depression

I am not very good at expressing my emotions...objectively I can coldly tell anyone what is exactly the matter with me but never have I been allowed to express my emotions in a creative way. So here ya go, a poem I call "a boy and broken record"
I made my way to the darkened house,
Through the boarded up entrance,
Passed the furniture concealed by blankets,
Up the stairs treading onward,
Shallow steps passed breathing doors,
Covered ears from rattling handles,
Grasping cord giving access to the attic,
Step after step till finally greeted by the very last,
Hero and coward contend,
Twisting knob leads to endless creaks,
Adjusting to the dim glow my eyes they see,
A little boy sitting perfectly still with a slightly crooked smile,
And scattered around the little boy in the attic,
Was a pile of broken pieces...that once played the record.
Thanks for taking the time to read...
