MMPI-2... I'm so confused
MMPI-2... I'm so confused
I was diagnosed with major depression at 15. At 18 Ptsd and bipolar II. My current psychiatrist agrees and my therapist has stated several times that he thinks it's spot on. I recently retook the MMPI-2 and it indicated major depression and slight mania. It suggested diagnosis of major depression. im so confused...

Two thoughts (from a total non-professional)
1. Your mind and psyche may well have changed greatly, especially considering the immense changes one experiences in late adolescence.
2. Like all tests, the MMPI measures something/anything at varying levels of more or less accuracy. And what it is stated to measure and what it actually measures can be two different things. (See the race/class discussion about the SAT.)
You are a human, an ever changing galaxy of experiences and identities. Great as the MMPI is, it cannot measure all that you are.
