Was that normal, or a sexual abuse?

Post by nisho »

Hello everyone, there's something I wonder about sometimes even if I don't think of it as a big deal or as something that had any impact on me.
about 10 years ago, so age...25 more or less, I went to psychiatric therapy at a very very expensive and "high end" psychiatrist. It was about 10 months of meetings once a month or so to follow up on medicine and have a bit of talk with it. at some point I asked about viagra to solve a side effect of other medicine and before handing me a prescription he gave me I think half a pill, asked to wait out for 30 minutes and then to come back, and in the room, he asked to take my pants of and masturbate so that he can see if there is an erection and evaluate if that's ok. pretty quickly he said ok stop - I see it's ok.

I sometimes wonder, was that normal? it really feels a bit strange and something he could ask me to go check on my own and report back...isn't it?

Appreciate any thought but also if someone knows 'officially' if this is a thing or not, that would be great to know. Thanks! <3

Yes, I agree with you, it was strange. I am sorry this happened to you.

Please take care, all the best.

Thank you! :) it's not a big deal just sort of wondering.

Hello Nisho,

I cannot imagine anyone asking a client to do that, ever.

WTF? Really?
