Withdrawal from Viibryd to Fetzima

Post by YesManDroc »

My therapist switched me from Viibryd to Fetzima without tapering me down. She said I wouldn't have withdrawal because we were replacing it with another med. That turned out not to be the case. I'm on day four of withdrawal, particularly formication. I'm trying to find if this is uncommon or if it was likely that I would have experienced withdrawal. Basically I'm trying to figure out if I should be cross with my therapist. Anybody know anything?

I'm sorry you're experiencing withdrawal, YesManDroc. I'm not familiar with the particular medications you mentioned. I have found that my psychiatrist has switched my medications more quickly than I expected, with the same reasoning that because the old medication is being replaced I won't go through withdrawals, so maybe this isn't too uncommon. I hope you're doing better now.

I went through a similar thing, but just so you know I love the fetzima. So many less side effects for me anyway. I hope it works as well for you
