anxiety is molten lava pouring over an iceberg, the steam stretching me from the inside out. along the base of my skull electrical pops, a sharp pulling, the ripping off of a scab over and over again. my brain boils and bubbles up sparks of memories, everything transforming into a thick black sludge. taking deep breaths and holding them as long as i can before my vision goes grey. pushing back against the pressure building inside.
