Anxiety and IBS/GI problems?

(Heads up for possible TMI)
Hello everyone! I want to ask if anyone here experiences Irritable Bowel Syndrome (or just general moderate-severe GI symptoms) that seems to be triggered by or tied in with anxiety/panic? I have had these issues for a long time now, but it has gotten especially bad, to the point where the second I begin to panic I can feel the immediate onset of symptoms (and often need to run for the restroom..). I have a pretty strong family history of GI problems and auto-immune disorders, so I worry about how the stress that I am currently putting on my body may affect me down the road.
If anyone else has a similar experience, is there anything that you do to help it? Diet changes? Medications? I am already in therapy and working hard on learning how to handle my anxiety and I think that probably does help, but the problem doesn't seem to be completely going away..
